Notes from the curator
Every farmer who contributed to this lot processed the beans, from de-pulping to solar drying, on his/her farm. Farmers washed the beans and dried them. There is no central processing mill i this region.
During the 1980's and 90's, Peru suffered tremendously due to terrorism, and Junin was probably the most affected area in the country. The Shining Path and the MRTA revolutionary groups were the strongest terrorist groups. Almost every producer that contributed to this lot was a victim of this dark chapter in Peruvian history.
