At Baba Java, we promise our customers excellent coffee from farm to cup. We ethically source our coffee from farms that give fair wages to the farmers to support their families. We choose only the best, specialty grade beans, then we roast them to perfection to provide the best tasting cup.

This Brazil is a multi-estate, naturally processed coffee with hints of chocolate and walnut.

From the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, this natural processed coffee ferments for 14 days, to break down sugars into the seed, and then is sun-dried on raised beds. Café Kreyol works directly with a cooperative of families in this region, each owning their own estate.

This direct trade relationship has brought sustainable employment to many farmers in the area, and as a result, their children have had consistent opportunities to attend school. This direct trade relationship has brought stable economical benefits to the region by reducing the volatility of the market.

Cafe Kreyol was started in order to create sustainable employment in Haiti, using specialty grade, organic coffee. Today Haiti remains our primary focus.

They believe farmers should get paid based on the quality of their product and we practice this belief by paying around 300% higher wages than what Fair Trade requires. 

Their story continues as we work to alleviate poverty in rural coffee growing regions, one cup at a time.

Ardi is Keffa’s trademark coffee,  This is the only coffee that has been consistent quality since we trademark in 2009, Ardi honors origins. Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of the coffee tree, and the place where human evolution began.
This coffee is from Guji, Anasora area. It is a new coffee production area with the highest altitude and super beautiful quality sourcing area. Kerchanshe washing station has a strong base in Anasora and working with farmers to improve quality and to ensure their finances has to be improved.

Keffa was built from the ground up, and they understand that what every new business needs are someone to believe in them. They work with roasters of all sizes, those who are brand new and those who are well-versed. Their top priority is supporting and sustaining the people behind the beans by working with origin partners who pay higher than average wages and who treat workers fairly. On the ground in Ethiopia, Keffa’s licensed Q-grader Tsega Melesse cups every lot before purchase and send us samples and celebrate our cupping score. She also coordinates export logistics with our exporters for expedited shipments.
Drawing on decades-long relationships, we work closely with our partners to make sure each coffee we import is up to our standards. Through these close connections, we can improve processing methods, export sorting and bringing coffees to the level of Zero Defect. We are deeply invested in and committed to the growth of the specialty coffee community.

The word “ethos” is defined as “a manifestation of beliefs and aspirations” - and Ethos Roasters is a company that embodies our most noble aspirations to make a difference in the world through coffee.

We begin by sourcing the most socially-impactful, highest-quality coffee beans we can, roasting them with scientific care (in state-of-the-art 15-kilo and 10-kilo drum roasters, by PhD and MD holders), and packaging and shipping them as soon as they are roasted. We only roast on order (no coffee inventory ever!) so we can always ship your coffee just hours after roasting. 

Yet, our definition of coffee "greatness" goes well beyond high quality and unparalleled freshness - it prioritizes the impact behind each bean. In fact, our passion for coffee is only surpassed by our desire to make a difference in the lives of small coffee farmers (over wealthy large farmers or Estates which tend to dominate Specialty coffee). Our biggest success story is a small farmer Co-Op in Poaquil, Guatemala, which was able to buy their own coffee processing equipment in 2019 and continues to grow with us!
